Recounting the time I attempted to thwart two of the world’s greatest hunters and came out on top.
With thanks to Julissa Helmuth for use of the header image (licensing)
I thwarted two
Of the world’s
Greatest murderers
Snatched the victim
From their very grasps
An extremely perilous
Endeavour
At least
They’re certainly the best
If looks could kill
For the glares
That Peanut and Boo gave me
Had
Terminate with extreme prejudice
Written all over them
When last night removing
A large errant moth
From their possession
And returning it
To the wild
Something that involved
Much picking up
Of wriggling moggies
And moving them away
Acting as a parent cat might
With wayward kittens
Carrying them up stairs
And plopping them down
With the instruction
Sit, Boo-boo, sit
Stay, Peanut, stay
While the two
Fully grown adult felines
Played their punk adolescent parts
With performances worthy
Of the Oscars Academy
Staring down from the landing
Eyes big and wide
Full of nothing
But venomous loathing and hate
For someone who puts
Food and water in their bowls
Every single day
Thanks for reading 🙂
