Transferring older poems to Instagram has allowed the opportunity to revisit them. Below, thoughts on the Fruits of the Loon series in particular pertaining to the piece on Lime.
With thanks to Vino Li for use of the image of sliced lime, cropped and coloured by me (licensing).
I was never completely happy
With my first poem
About lime
Not that
I ever said I was
So it wasn’t exactly
A lie
Which is what happens
To a lime
When taking the M out
Though in the case
Of the fruit telling fibs
Is point moot
For lime can’t talk
Or even walk
Though it does lie
That being the position
It always ends up in
Once losing its grip
On the tree
The original Lime can be found here.
Thanks for reading 🙂
