Possibly, maybe, kinda, potentially based on something I once couldn’t work out.
With thanks to Dimitar Donovski for the use of the header image, a photograph of a child standing in the middle of a misty field (licensing).
I spent many years
Of my youth
Turning up at playing fields
Only to wonder
Where all the carnage was
As I looked across
The great expanse of open land
That was often misty
Frequently full of footballers
Always with the odd dog walker
And occasionally
One of the few normal ones too
Though I never saw a single sign
Not the slightest hint
Of the promised
In-the-name disaster
That had quite clearly by then
Been long ago removed
The area completely cleaned up
Yet had been such a magnificent
Catastrophe in its day
A place was still to be known as
The wreck
Thanks for reading 🙂
